Grape Agate (Grape Amethyst)

Commonly called Grape Agate, it is not actually an agate. It is a form of chalcedony made up by tiny amethyst crystals forming in botryoidal clusters. The traditional purple color and the shape gave rise to the trade name of Grape Agate. Colors can range from almost white to deep purple, and even blues and greens. This piece has a bit of lavender to aqua ombre coloring and looks great on the small specimen stand (sold separately). Approx. 3.5", from Indonesia.
